  I would like to dedicate this page to my very good friend Lynne Reynolds. Lynne has attended EVERY one of my shows since i started performing as Elvis. Lynne has recently been diagnosed with Spine cancer and in her own words " The future doesn't look good" It was this terrible news that inpired me to try to help her fulfil her lifelong dream to visit GRACELAND the home of her idol ELVIS PRESLEY. I sat at my computer one evening and started to type to various ETA friends. The result of that night is that there are now 6 events planned to raise money for Lynnes trip to Memphis. The first ELVIS SPECTACULAR was held on October 27th 2011 at The HiTide in Porthcawl, home of the famous Elvis Festival. There, 10 ETA's including JIMMY ELVIS, DARREN "GRACELAND" JONES, PETE MOORE,JUAN LOZANO ,DAVE SMITH & THE HOUNDDOGS & NICHOLAS TYLER performed in front of a receptive crowd and raised £600 towards the fund. What a great start!!!! Followed by ELVIS& FRIENDS in Cannock on DECEMBER 2nd. Thatshow featured DEAK RIVERS as BUDDY HOLLY, JOHN AARON performing Elvis' movie years, JOHN GEORGE as Elvis '68 , a speial appearance by my good friend MUJ PRESLEY with his "debut" performance as Elvis, this night raised £325. The following evening on DECEMBER 3rd "LEGENDS TRIBUTE SHOW" took place in Leicestershire. Again featuring Deak Rivers as BUDDY HOLLY, John George as ELVIS '68 and myself as ELVIS IN VEGAS. Also special guests THE UP BEATLES performed and a fantastic evening was had by all and we raised £1000!!!!!. The following weekend on DECEMBER 9th Wakefield was the venue for "ROCKIN' FOR REYNOLDS" a fantastic Elvis tribute show that featured four of the Norths top Elvis Tribute Artists, KEVIN KING, JIM SANTANA, CARN C RYDER, & CRAIG KING with no less than 8 costume changes they took the audience on a musical journey through the colourful career of THE KING! A great night that raised £700 towards the fund The Following day on DEC 10th a special fudraiser was held at THE LEICESTER INN in Coalville in Leicestershire with local singers and bands, face painting, karaoke competitions, a fancy dress football match and lots more too, what a great day this was and we raised £350! All this culminated on DEC 11th at the famous "ELVIS CAFE" at Tarvin Sands near Chester with a get together of Elvis fans, where Lynne was presented with £190 that had been collected in a donations box on the counter!!! All the artists performing in these events gave their time freely to help raise this money towards Lynnes trip to Memphis. With various donations we raised a little over £3000!!!!! I am eternally grateful to all my ETA buddies who were part of this and to all who donated towards the trip, i couldn't have done it without you all. So, as the big man hinself would say....THANKYA........ THANK YA VERY MUCH!! |
